Mrs. Mayer’s 8th grade science classes had fun playing “Battle of the Beaks” while learning about natural selection! Each student “bird” received a uniquely shaped beak as well as various foods in their bird feeder. They were then challenged to eat as much as possible in 30 seconds to see who could thrive in such a competitive environment!











Mrs. Walla's sixth grade algebraic thinking students practiced their exponents skills today with one large and one small wooden block.





Mrs Hutchinson's 5th grade class participated in Day 1 of Starbase. They discussed characteristics of teamwork. Activities included were an introduction to CAD (computer aided design) and using Newton's 1st Law of Motion to design a harness to safely land Eggbert from the space shuttle.








Students in Ms. Gallagher’s Computer Programming class are learning to code using Python. They are using the interactive game Ozaria to learn Python coding.








Students in 6th grade STEAM class worked on team building while completing a Lego Build Challenge.

The Varsity Wrestling team won the 4th annual Richmond Alumni Duals, going 5-0 on the day with wins over Lincoln Park, Lamphere,Holly, Chippewa Valley, and Anchor Bay.

It was a busy week for the RHS Competitive Cheer team. On Wednesday, they hosted 6 BWAC schools and took second. On Saturday, they won the Rochester Invitational.

Congratulations, All-State Clarinetist Claire Reinhard! Claire earned first chair in the 2024 MSBOA All-State Middle School Band and performed Saturday, January 27 in Grand Rapids during the Michigan Music Conference. This is a tremendous honor and the band sounded fantastic. Thank you, Claire, for representing Richmond Bands with pride!



Earlier this week, RMS Builders Club worked hard to make handmade tie blankets, which will be donated to Children’s Hospital. Thank you to the Metro Detroit Young Professionals Kiwanis for sponsoring this fun service project!
