A Message of Hope and Togetherness. As the holiday season draws near, I am reminded of how truly fortunate we are to live and learn in a community like Richmond—one defined by kindness, generosity, and the simple yet powerful spirit of looking out for one another. The holidays give us a moment to pause, to reconnect with loved ones, and to reflect on all that we’ve built together through care, courage, and compassion. In Richmond, we are more than a school district—we are a family. Each day, I see hope in our students’ laughter, perseverance in our staff’s dedication, and love in the way our families and community come together to lift one another up. It is this unity—this sense of belonging—that continues to make Richmond such a special place to call home. As we turn the page toward a new year, may we carry forward the spirit of optimism that defines us. There is so much to look forward to—new goals, new opportunities, and the continued promise of brighter days ahead. On Monday, the Varsity Softball team was recognized at the Board of Education meeting to celebrate their State Championship. The four team captains shared some of thier favorite memories from the title run, and each had a heartfelt thank you to some of the people that helped make the season such a success.

From: The 2025 MHSAA Division 2 Softball State Champs – Richmond HS Softball
The 2025 State Title run was an incredible success story for the Richmond High School softball team. Their hard work and dedication resulted in a state title. Richmond had more than just dedication from the athletes on the field and in the dugout. The Richmond community support topped every school we played. The community believed in the team and our fan presence at each game made a huge difference.
The MHSAA representative at MSU commented that our teams, coaches and fans demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and behavior throughout the semi-finals and finals. The officials at the districts remarked that officials enjoy working Richmond Softball games because of the fan support and sportsmanship. This is a statement about who we are as much as the score at the end of the game.
On behalf of the team, I want to thank everyone who attended the games. Thank you to everyone who watched at home, as well. Thank you to all the past players who have created a culture of excellence. And lastly, a special thanks to our assistant coaches, parents and families for the support all season.

Any student participating in athletics through RHS or RMS must have a completed Student-Athlete registration and a physical dated on or after April 15. 2025 in order to practice.
There will be an information meeting for parents of student-athletes planning to participate this fall on Tuesday, July 29th at 6:00 pm in the High School Auditorium.
