On Monday, the Board of Education approved a new three-year contract with the Richmond Education Association (REA). As part of this agreement, the 2025–2026 school calendar has been finalized, and the district and REA leadership are very close to completing the calendars for the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years. Attached you will find the approved 2025–2026 school year calendar for your reference.
To help families with long-term planning and travel arrangements, below are the common break dates that have already been established by the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD). These dates reflect the minimum number of days students will be off during each break and will be observed by Richmond Community Schools:
2026–2027 School Year
--Winter (Holiday) Break: Wednesday, December 23, 2026 – Friday, January 1, 2027
--Spring Break: Monday, March 29 – Friday, April 2, 2027
2027–2028 School Year
--Winter (Holiday) Break: Wednesday, December 22 – Friday, December 31, 2027
--Spring Break: Monday, March 27 – Friday, March 31, 2028
Please note that these dates include only the required countywide breaks. Other important details—such as the first and last days of school, half-days, and professional development days—will be shared once the remaining calendar components are finalized.
