IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

Dear Members of Our School Community,

On behalf of the Board of Education, I am writing to share an important update regarding the search for our next Superintendent.

I am pleased to inform you that the Board has officially approved the position announcement of the Superintendent. The vacancy announcement is now live and will remain open until Wednesday, April 1, at 4:00 p.m. We are committed to conducting a thorough, transparent, and inclusive search process to identify a leader who reflects our district’s values and is well-positioned to guide us into the future.

We are especially grateful to everyone who participated in the community meetings and the online survey. The Board has carefully reviewed all feedback and will continue to use it as a guiding framework throughout the search. Your input is essential in shaping the leadership profile and priorities for our next Superintendent. In the coming weeks, we will provide updates on the search timeline, stakeholder engagement opportunities, and next steps. We encourage continued involvement from families, staff, students, and community members as we move forward.

Thank you for your thoughtful participation and for your ongoing support of our schools. Together, we will select a Superintendent who will lead our district with integrity, vision, and a deep commitment to student success.

A Message of Hope and Togetherness.
As the holiday season draws near, I am reminded of how truly fortunate we are to live and learn in a community like Richmond—one defined by kindness, generosity, and the simple yet powerful spirit of looking out for one another. The holidays give us a moment to pause, to reconnect with loved ones, and to reflect on all that we’ve built together through care, courage, and compassion.
In Richmond, we are more than a school district—we are a family. Each day, I see hope in our students’ laughter, perseverance in our staff’s dedication, and love in the way our families and community come together to lift one another up. It is this unity—this sense of belonging—that continues to make Richmond such a special place to call home.
As we turn the page toward a new year, may we carry forward the spirit of optimism that defines us. There is so much to look forward to—new goals, new opportunities, and the continued promise of brighter days ahead. When we stand together, believe in one another, and care deeply for our neighbors, there is nothing our community cannot achieve.
To our teachers and staff: thank you for your unwavering heart and commitment. To our students: thank you for inspiring us with your energy, creativity, and dreams. To our families and community: thank you for your partnership and belief in what we can accomplish together.
