Dear Members of Our School Community,
On behalf of the Board of Education, I am pleased to share an important update in our search for the next Superintendent of Schools.
After a thorough and thoughtful review of a highly qualified pool of applicants, the Board has selected two finalists to advance to the second round of the interview process. This decision reflects our commitment to identifying a leader who not only demonstrates strong professional experience and vision but also aligns with the values and priorities of our district and community.
The candidates moving forward are:
• Mr. Pasquale Cusumano, currently serving as Assistant Superintendent of Secondary and Adult Education for Rochester Community Schools
• Mr. Mike Domagalski, currently serving as Elementary and Virtual Principal for East China School District
Second round interviews will take place on Thursday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center of Richmond High School. Again, these interviews will be open to the public.
Additionally, the board will be hosting a meet and greet and a time for public engagement with these two candidates on May 12. Times and format of these events will be shared shortly. All updates can be found on our website under the superintendent search tab.
The Board remains committed to a transparent, inclusive, and deliberate search process. We are grateful for the input and support we have received thus far, and we look forward to your continued engagement as we move toward selecting the next leader of our district.

At the Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Board of Education Special Meeting, the Board reviewed applications for the Superintendent position and selected candidates to advance to the first round of interviews. Below is the list of candidates, along with interview dates and times:
Tuesday, April 28
• Mike Domagalski. Elementary & Virtual Academy Principal, East China School District - 6:30pm
• Amy Nelson, Superintendent, Capac Community Schools – Approximately 8:10pm
Wednesday, April 29
• Todd Distelrath, High School Principal, Chippewa Valley Schools – 6:30pm

The first interview each night will begin at 6:30pm. The second interview on the 28th and 29th will begin approximately 10 minutes after the first interview concludes. The interviews will be held in an Open Meeting at the High School Media Center. A public comment period will be included, and your input is valued.

As a 7th Grade ELA teacher and AARI Interventionist, Ms. Turpin is a true champion for student growth. She meets students where they are, helping them build confidence in their reading and writing while fostering a love for learning that extends far beyond the classroom.
Her impact doesn’t stop there—through Writer’s Club and Crochet Club, she creates spaces where students can express themselves, connect with others, and feel a strong sense of belonging. Her creativity, patience, and dedication make a lasting difference in the lives of so many students each day.

Dear Members of Our School Community,
On behalf of the Board of Education, I am writing to share an important update regarding the search for our next Superintendent.
I am pleased to inform you that the Board has officially approved the position announcement of the Superintendent. The vacancy announcement is now live and will remain open until Wednesday, April 1, at 4:00 p.m. We are committed to conducting a thorough, transparent, and inclusive search process to identify a leader who reflects our district’s values and is well-positioned to guide us into the future.
We are especially grateful to everyone who participated in the community meetings and the online survey. The Board has carefully reviewed all feedback and will continue to use it as a guiding framework throughout the search. Your input is essential in shaping the leadership profile and priorities for our next Superintendent. In the coming weeks, we will provide updates on the search timeline, stakeholder engagement opportunities, and next steps. We encourage continued involvement from families, staff, students, and community members as we move forward.
