I started teaching in 1998.

From the time I was a child, I always wanted to be a teacher.  I would play school with all the neighborhood children, and I was always the teacher.  I helped teach my younger brothers to read. When my own children came along, I couldn't contain the teacher in me anymore!  I have always loved working with children.   I waited until my children were older, then I went back to work in the education field.  I am passionate about education and helping children become their full potential.  I love seeing children realize they are important and unique.  Children are our future, and they need to be loved, nurtured, and given opportunities to learn in a safe, quality environment.

Outside the Classroom:
In addition to my teaching duties, I am involved in the School Improvement Committee, Social Studies Committee, and March is Reading Month Committee.

Outside of Richmond, I am involved with Crossroad Community Church.

I have a wonderful family, with whom I spend a great deal of time.  My husband and I have been married 38 years.  We have three children all who have graduated from college and are now married.  I have been blessed with 11 grandchildren so far.  I am very active in my church, enjoy bike riding, gardening, cooking, working out at the YMCA, and reading.
