Classes:
I am highly qualified to teach grades K-8, in a self contained classroom. I am currently teaching Kindergarten.
Education Experience:
Master of Arts in Teaching
Saginaw Valley University
Early Childhood
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education
Wayne State University
Applied Arts & Science
I started teaching in 2002.
I chose to enter the education field, because of the strong influence
from my high school English teacher, Mrs. Nill. Her enthusiasm and love
for teaching inspired me to pursue a career in teaching. I previously taught first grade for six years, in addition to my current teaching position in kindergarten. I have a true passion for teaching early childhood students!
Outside of the Classroom
In addition to my teaching duties, I am involved as an advisor to our
second and third grade Student Council at Lee Elementary, along with
Co-Chair of our School Improvement team. I had the wonderful opportunity
to teach our After-School Reading Program, Summer Camps for Reading and Math, along with Summer Camp Programs through the MISD for
Literacy & Engineering, and Science. I successfully completed a two year long
Teacher Leader program at the MISD, along with START training.
My husband and I have a beautiful little girl, named Larissa and a twelve year old chocolate Labrador, named Sienna. On our free time, we love spending time on the lake, bike riding, traveling Up North, and spending time with family.
