Hello Everyone. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and I am fully approved as a MI School Social Worker. I have offices at the middle school and high school. I work primarily with grades 5-12. I am the Homeless Education Liaison for the district and I am part of the MTSS and Crisis Response Team. I am the district contact for the Backpack Blessings program, a community partnership to provide food assistance for Richmond families.
Educational Experience:
Currently attending Saginaw Valley State University studying Special Education Leadership
Master of Social Work- Wayne State University
Bachelor of Social Work- Wayne State University
Licensed Master Social Worker- State of MI
I have been working as a School Social Worker for 14 years. Prior to working in the schools, I worked as a counselor and therapist in the mental health field for 15 years. My background is in adolescent and family therapy, crisis and substance abuse counseling.
I am a "relationship" oriented therapist by training. I have always felt a drive to help others but through my work, I have seen the power and importance of a positive working relationship with students and their parents. I believe that any problem can be resolved by working together to a positive end. I try to live by that belief everyday.
I am married and have two daughters. My oldest daughter is employed as a speech pathologist in Juneau, Alaska. My youngest daughter is studying public relations at Grand Valley State University. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends in my off time.
