Summer School Courses for Grade 6-12
 
The Richmond Community Schools Grade 6-12 Summer School Program is designed for students who have not successfully completed a course at the middle school or for credit recovery at the high school.  All summer school courses are conducted in an online format with a Summer School Coordinator to assist students with registration and completion of registered online courses.  Students are required to complete all online assignments and assessments on-site during the six week period summer school session.

Tuition
$175 per class.  No refunds after the first day of each session.

​For middle school students, each class taken does not replace the course grade, but provides an opportunity for students to learn key skills missed or not mastered during the regular school year.  

For high school students, each class counts as a half credit (0.5) and is only for credit recovery.  It is the student’s responsibility to contact his/her counselor to make sure the course(s) selected are appropriate. Students will earn a credit, not a letter grade, upon finishing the course.

Registration
To register, complete the online registration form below.  Once the online registration form is complete, you will immediately be directed to the E-Funds website to make an electronic payment.  All payments must be received in full by the Friday prior to the session start date or the student's registration will be canceled.  

If registering for more than one Summer School session, please complete a new form for each session.

The information below will guide our program, helping to create an atmosphere that is safe and conducive to learning. 
 
Attendance
Students are expected to attend all days for the session they are registered for.    If a child is ill and will be absent, please call us at (586) 727-3565, ext. 4063.
 
Student Safety
Student must enter and leave through the main entrance to the building.  Students who enter or leave the building after classes have started for the day must check in and out with the administrator in charge.  Not doing so shall be grounds for dismissal from the program.
 
Books/Materials
Each student is responsible for books and materials assigned to him/her while taking a course.  This includes items like textbooks, computers, and related peripherals, computer software, calculators, and other equipment.  If any property is lost or damaged, the student is responsible for payment to replace the item.
 
Code of Conduct
The Richmond Code of Conduct shall be enforced during the Summer School Program.  Any inappropriate behavior will be handled as per the Richmond Code of Conduct and may result in a student’s immediate dismissal from the Summer Learning Program.  No refunds will be issued for students dismissed for violation of the Student Code of Conduct.
 
Transportation
Transportation is not provided.  Students eligible to drive may drive.  Driving is a privilege.  Students may only park in the parking lot to the EAST of the middle school gymnasium.  Inappropriate use of a car on, or in proximity of, school grounds shall result in removal from the program and/or police notification.
