"To effectively communicate, we must realize that we are all different in the way we perceive the world and use this understanding as a guide to our communication with others." Anthony Robbins
I am highly qualified to provide speech-language therapy services for students in grades pre-k through 12th grade. I am currently providing speech-language services for students in grades preK-4.
Northern Michigan University, Master of Arts Speech-Language Pathology
Central Michigan University, Bachelor of Science Communication Disorders
I began working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in 1994. I chose this field because I absolutely love working with children. Whether it is teaching a child how to say an /r/, use a communication device, follow directions, understand non verbal social cues, speak without stuttering, or sign “more,” knowing that my interventions are helping a child communicate and that those skills will help them their entire life…is the very reason I do what I do.
Outside of the Classroom:
In addition to my teaching duties I am involved with the Technology Committee, Wellness Committee, and am one of 3 Assistive Technology Representatives for our district. Outside of Richmond, I am a member of the Michigan Speech-Language Hearing Association and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
I have three daughters, one a 2014 graduate of Richmond High School, and twin daughters currently attending Richmond Middle School. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
