Classes:
I am highly qualified to teach English, history, and physical education to students in grades 7-12.  I am highly qualified to be a guidance counselor for students in grades K-12.  I am currently the guidance counselor for high school students with last names A-J, and I teach one section of Corrective Reading.

Education Experience:
Masters of Arts in Counseling--Wayne State University
Master's of Arts in Educational Technology--Central Michigan University                     Teaching Certificate--Central Michigan University, Secondary Education
Bachelors of Science--Central Michigan University

English major, history minor, physical education minor

I started teaching in January 2002.  I entered the educational field because of the excitement and joy I get out of helping people, especially teenagers, learn new things. Growing up, I never worked a "typical" job; all of my jobs worked with kids in some way.  As the daughter of two educators, education was a natural field to explore!

Outside of the Classroom:
In addition to my counseling and teaching duties, I am the co-chair of the School Improvement Committee for the high school and a member of the District School Improvement Committee.  I am also involved in helping to review candidates for the National Honor Society.

In my personal time, I enjoy breeding and showing dogs; I belong to several National and local dog clubs and organizations.  I am licensed to judge Junior Showmanship at all AKC events.  I also love reading, spending time with my family and friends, and continually working on my 100-year-old farmhouse!
