mrmurf.weebly.com and OneNote
My weebly website provides information, documents, and links to helpful resources for my different classes. OneNote is an online learning tool found in Microsoft Office that allows students to generate their own knowledge through online research, collaborative learning, and discussion forums. Using OneNote allows the teacher to "share" the power of learning. To access OneNote online, students have to login to their Student Email and then use their username and password. Then, using the app launcher, they will select OneNote to get into their various pages. Please contact me if your student is having trouble accessing OneNote.

Masters of Educational Technology

Masters of Humanities
Central Michigan University
Bachelors of Arts
Minor: Social Studies
I started teaching during the 2002-03 school year at Mesick (MI) High School. I began teaching at Richmond High School during the 2004-2005 school year.
I chose to enter teaching because I love helping students learn. I also am passionate about learning. Working with students with the goal of helping them grow in their reading, writing, and thinking skills is something that I take very seriously. It is my aim to help my students develop a love for learning.
Outside of the Classroom:
Other than teaching Creative Writing, English, Yearbook, and Newspaper, I also participate on the School Improvement Committee. I coach JV Baseball and am the advisor for the Key Club, which is a service-based organization. During the volleyball and basketball seasons, I try to announce as many games as possible. During our Pep Assemblies, I am the Faculty Leader.
Sports – whether participating in them or watching them – is one of my passions. My Saturdays of September, October, and November are spent watching Michigan football. I love the Tigers, Wings, Lions, and Pistons as well! Throughout the year, I attend numerous Blue Devil athletic events and am the head coach of the JV Baseball Team. I am always proud of the way our student-athletes conduct themselves.
I also am highly impressed by our school’s fine arts program. I attend as many plays and concerts as possible. Our students create phenomenal artwork. I look forward to seeing the various talents that
RHS students have, and I know I will be very proud of all they accomplish.
Traveling is a passion of mine. I've studied in Scotland for four months and have traveled throughout parts of Europe. I've also had the opportunity to travel throughout the US, and have visited many of our national parks. I love seeing the world and hope to encourage my students to develop a desire to see all of the wonderful things that exist in our country and beyond.
I look forward to working with
RHS students and helping them become better readers, writers, and thinkers. Please know I will be motivated to ensure that students will understand the various topics, themes, and cultural ideas that have been found in our nation’s and our world’s history and literature. They will be challenged in a variety of ways to ensure they grow in reading analysis, critical thinking, and high-quality writing.
