I started teaching in August of 2000 here in Richmond. I had taught Middle School Resource Room for seven years (Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2005/2006), one year of Health (5th-8th grade), one year teaching K-4 Special Education and the last four years at the High School with the CI program.
I originally started my college career as a Business major but after volunteering for the Michigan Winter Special Olympics up in Sugar Bush my junior year, I changed my major and found my passion in life!
Outside the Classroom:
In addition to my teaching duties I am involved in the School Improvement Team, Technology Committee, Transitioning Coordinator, Special Olympic Coordinator and Grading/Attendance Committee. Over the past five years I have advocated or fund raised and purchased for our classroom; three student computers, fifteen iPads and an interactive Smart board system. In addition to that, I have coached Varsity /JV baseball and Middle School Football and have ran winter conditioning programs here at Richmond.
Outside of Richmond, I am involved in many different activities which are family oriented. I married the love of my life and we have five beautiful children, Samantha (age 20), Devon (13), Sienna (8) and Shae' (4). We are active members of Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron. I currently coach and run a travel baseball team for 10u's. I also coach at a youth travel wrestling program and a rec league basketball team.
In my spare time I owe and operate multiple rentals in the Port Huron area.
