I started teaching in 1991 and spent 23 years at East Detroit High School before coming to Richmond High School. Although this is my third year here at Richmond, I know it is a perfect fit for me.
I love teaching and honestly don't consider it "work". My passion for teaching art is evident upon entering my classroom, but my real joy is with the students. My desire to work with students and have them achieve something they didn't think was possible is my ultimate reward.
Outside of the Classroom:
Over the years I have coached many sports including volleyball, softball, swimming, and varsity basketball, but being a mother of two children I am very involved with their school and athletic activities. I enjoy backpacking, gardening, both watching and playing sports and my Friday coffee with my friends.
I look forward to working with RHS students and helping them find their true passion. They will be challenged in a variety of ways to ensure they grow in multiple areas including, problem solving, critical thinking, and high-quality artwork.
